River had his 2 month well baby visit today... and his first round of shots..
His measurements are:
12 lbs 6 oz, 22 3/4 inches in length, and 16 1/4 inches head... it puts him in the 50th percentile across the board.. he is RIGHT where he should be for his age physically..
She did a few excersizes with him to see how strong he was.. she put him down on the table and he propped himself up with his hands and looked around and held his head perfectly straight and everything.. she was impressed at his strength and said he is doing things that a baby normally doesn't do until closer to 4 months.. GO LITTLE MAN!
We told her that the formula is helping but not alot.. she said she wants to keep him on it until he turns 3 months and if there still isn't much improvement he'll be put on something called Progesteril or something like that.. she said some babies are allergic to lactose (which would be given soy formula) some babies are allergic to the protein in milk (babies are given Nutrimagen) and then some are allergic to the fat which is that next one.
He was given 3 shots (one of which was 3 different vaccinations all together) He goes back at 4 months for his next round of shots

About a week or so before River was born I was talking with my friend Sarah and she said that after a few weeks having River in my life I wouldn't be able to remember how life was without him and wouldn't understand how I ever made it with out him.. and I have hit that point..
Today I was sitting on the couch watching TV and River was sleeping on a pillow in my lap and I looked down at him and was just in total amazement.. amazement at this little life that Doug and I have created. This little person who even at not even 3 weeks old already has his own personality and his own likes and dislikes. I just stared at him.. stroked his hair, rubbed his cheek (until he smacked my hand.. LOL) I can't get enough of him.. he's absolutely amazing.
Almost 3 weeks old now.. WOW..
So we got his picture done last week professionally and we just got them on-line.. some didn't really come out because he was starving and the stupid woman wouldn't let me take a break to feed him so he'd be cooperative.. so I walked out with him (I'm not starving my son for pictures) and she made Doug choose prints.. but here are the ones I liked best...

River's 2 week check up
Well we went for River's 2 week well baby check up... first his stats
He weighs 8 lbs 3 oz which is a 12 oz gain from birth.. he is in 25% for his weight
He is 21 1/4 inches which is 1 1/4 inches bigger than birth... he is in the 75% for height
His head is 14.5 which is the same size his head was at birth.. 50%
His exam went well.. he has to go back next week for an ultrasound because there is a click in his hip.. she said basically it means that his hip comes out of the socket when it's rotated.. the ultrasound will show us if it's sometimes or all the time and how severe.. if it's more severe then a 20 degree he'll either have to wear a brace at night for a while or we'll have to double diaper him. That is going to be scheduled for sometime the beginning of next week and then we'll go to the pediatrican the day after to have her explain the results.
His rash is almost gone but thanks for all the advice.. the doctor said it's just an explained rash.. it actually had a name but I don't rememeber what it is.. she said alot of babies get it the first few months of life and it can last anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks but it doesn't bother them at all. Everything else went great as far as his exam.. my baby is 2 weeks old tomorrow!!!
